Andrei Soldatov is an investigative journalist and an editor of Agentura.Ru, an information hub on intelligence agencies. In 1996 he began his career as a reporter. In September 2000 he launched with several colleagues the Agentura.Ru project. He covered the siege of Nord-Ost in Moscow and the hostage crisis in Beslan. Soldatov regularly makes comments on terrorism and intelligence issues for Vedomosti, Radio Free Europe and the BBC. In October 2012 Agentura.Ru, Privacy International and Citizen Lab launched the joint project ‘Russia’s Surveillance State’ with Andrei Soldatov as a head of the project.
