In 2010 Bea Bodrogi co-founded the CivilMedia, a non-governmental organization that promotes freedom of opinion and the freedom of the press (http://civilmedia.net/en/). She provides legal assistance to journalists, persons who shape public opinion and to anyone whose freedom of expression has been unjustifiably limited. Her primary focus is the media coverage of disadvantage groups. Over the last 15 years, she has served as legal counsel before Hungarian and international courts in the defence of Romas, persons with disabilities, women, and members of the LGBT communities. A trainer and mediator, she has published widely in the field of human rights, and has also co-authored a commentary on the law of equal treatment. Currently she is writing a handbook covering all (Hungarian) legislation on freedom of expression.
