Radu Raileanu joined ActiveWatch in 2010. He is currently in his third year as a PhD candidate within the Faculty of Communication and Public Relation, within the Bucharest National School of Political Science and Public Administration, where he studies discriminatory and hate speech political discourse in Romania. As part of ActiveWatch, he has worked in the antidiscrimination department, contributing to the rapid response efforts of ActiveWatch on discrimination or occurrences of hate speech. He is also currently coordinating the NetRangers project that empowers high school students to become active citizens in fighting hate speech online and offline, by setting the basics of free speech vs. hate speech. For the past two years, he has been the contact person for ActiveWatch within the International Network against CyberHate, an international coalition of NGOs aiming at combating online hate speech.
